I thought this day would never come...what a week. This weekend will be relatively low key before we start ramping back up again for lots of Fall travel. We are celebrating my sister in law's birthday tonight with dinner at 18 Seaboard. And then having everyone over for Champagne (duh) and cake after dinner. I personally cannot wait to lounge in PJ's until noon and catch up on some Netflix this weekend. We are heading to The Killers concert on Monday evening, which I am so excited for date night with the husband to break up the Monday Blues!

Glamorous Kitchens

I am all about a white kitchen. I think it exudes a crisp clean lifestyle, which I love. However, I have become increasingly obsessed with black kitchens that still incorporate bright crisp touches. Can't get enough.

Fall Wish List

Personally, once August begins, I naturally begin planning for Fall. I am pretty sure it will always be my favorite season. This fall is already proving to be just as jam packed as our summer with friends visiting from out of state, planning our trip to DC next month (CANNOT EVEN WAIT) and planning our trip to San Diego in the Spring! Not to mention Football season starts in 3 short weeks! ShopBop is killing it with their Fall goodies so far and these items are going to have to be a part of my closet!

These flats are awesome for many reasons. Don't get me wrong my Tory flats are fantastic, but they can get somewhat uncomfortable after a long day. These flats, with the elastic trim look to be a far more comfortable staple.

This dainty gold necklace is great because I love layering with other gold necklaces I own.

This candle is so good. so so good. For so many reasons. And at a great price on Amazon compared to the usual $60.

This Week

This week flew by. I didn't expect it to because I knew it would be a tough adjustment easing into the work week after a busy previous weekend. Can I just mention how excited I am to be spending a low key weekend with friends in our little home? Probably too excited.

I picked this wine up and its instantly become a summer favorite. It is crisp, light, refreshing and easy on the wallet too!

 I thought I struck gold at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale when this candle trio was only $30! Sadly, the collection I got above is now sold out online, but they do have a different set that is still a part of the sale! You won't regret it.


I first received this as a sample from an order I placed and instantly became hooked. It is the perfect light primer for the summer and is definitely becoming a staple.


Okay, lets please look past the fact that yes this is drop dead gorg Brooklyn Decker, and a bucket on her head would look good. I have been seriously contemplating making the hack on my hair during my appointment next week. I love the caramel low lights in this for fall, but get so nervous about cutting 5+ inches...hopefully I will have some sort of revelation in the next few days, because that cut is seriously cute.

Weekend

This past weekend we ventured down to Ocracoke, NC. Calling Wilmington home, I never have really spent much time in the Outer Banks, and really had no idea how huge the area actually was. Little did I know, once we passed the sign "Welcome to the Outer Banks" we had a good 2 hours of driving and a ferry ride remaining. But, was the drive worth it! It was absolutely beautiful scenery and the most perfect weather. We met about 20 of our friends down there and had a ton of fun in the sun!

It was so nice to have a relaxing weekend away with my hubby. While we missed our fur baby TONS, it was so much fun to spend some time with good friends!

This week, I look forward to catching up on some rest, working on organizing our wedding photos and operation gallery wall part 2!

Weekend Getaway

                                          

The hubby and I are off tomorrow for a relaxing beach getaway at Ocracoke Island. It will be my first time on the island, and I've already told Austin we aren't leaving until I see wild horses on the beach! We are planning on taking the long way home on Sunday to experience the Outer Banks, eat some great seafood and take in the atmosphere. If you have any recommendations on lunch spots for us on Sunday, I'd love to hear! Have a great weekend!

What I Loved This Week...

It's been awhile since I blogged last, but things have just been a blur on our end. This week I cannot get enough of these things:

This kitchen. When the day comes that we buy, my one rule is a BRIGHT white kitchen and nothing else. I adore white marble and know that someday it'll be ours. I also adore the bronze fixtures and open shelving!

This recipe. It's been so hot lately, that my go to is salads of all types that will carry me through the week. The recipe calls for an "english cucumber" but a regular will do just fine! :) Anything with Feta has my name all over it.

This necklace. I'm sorry, but J. Crew is drunk with some of the prices on their jewelry and for this price on Amazon for this...I can seriously justify my purchase. Plus, I think it'll transition nicely into Fall!

This is my latest DIY Project. When I picked up this baby, man was it UGLY. Picture...dark wood grain and dingy 70's hardware. With a few cans of spray paint and metal baroque style metal paint (highly recommend) this bad boy looks great in our guest room!

We also recently got back our wedding photos. I couldn't love them more. Our photographers truly captured our day just like I wanted. Easy, Coastal and fun. I will be back with a post on them once we get our disc back!
