Coastal Fog & Signature Jordan Interior Design

Through college until I graduated, I had the extreme privilege to work with a very old family friend with her interior design business.  Jordan, an interior design ECU alum has quite the talent ya'll (sorry, I said it Jordan) Our families have been friends since nearly the beginning of time and throughout my days at Coastal Fog, they really became family.

Coastal Fog is the retail shop of Signature Jordan Interior Design. There, I assisted with purchasing, attending markets, and helping with projects. It was a tremendous experience that I will be forever grateful for.  I highly recommend to anyone stopping through the area to browse this quaint little shop nestled in the heart of downtown Greenville ( I can promise you won't leave empty handed, I never do) ;-)   The shop carries brands such as Voluspa, Lollia ( a favooorite of mine), Archipelago, Roost, Kalalou, Design Legacy, Simpatico Candles, Caldrea, the list could literally go on and on and on and on, well, you get the idea.  Jordan is amazing to work with and can even take orders over the phone if you are searching for that perfect gift!

Jordan is an amazingly talented designer.  Whether your project is a bathroom flip or an entire house, she is the gal for you.  She has a serious knack for getting to know your personal style and being able to incorporate it effortlessly into your home.

Kate Spade Crazy

I need to shake the marketing director of Kate Spade's hand.  They have officially succeeded in making me want EVERYTHING out of their current collection. It all screams festive holiday fun. Even their new iPhone covers make me want to retire my recent September purchase (and what a perfect stocking stuffer!)

 (I'd give Santa a high five for this one)

   Something about Kate Spade is just so fun and flirty yet sophisticated and put together. Note: When I die, bury me in the Kate Spade Pearl Bauble Necklace and an Hermes Silk Twill tying back my hair and all will be well.


Not to mention my "something blue" has a good chance of being one of these spectacular items. Really loving number 6 and number 9 for a shower/event.

Weekend Recap

How was your weekend? Ours was filled with a refreshing mix of productivity and relaxation.  It's official! We have a wedding date. WHEW. April 27th, 2013 is our big day. We could not be any more excited.  "Our" chapel is absolutely perfect for us in every single way.  I had much debate after researching spots online, but after walking into this quaint little chapel, Austin & I knew this one was perfect for us.

(Aren't the Azalea's gorgeous? Thankfully, April is prime time Azalea month in the south!)

The interior is absolutely magnificent.  All slate floors and the chandelier took my breath away.  The French light fixture dating back to 1860, was brought to the United States and electrically wired especially for this precious little gem.

I cannot wait to say "I do". Especially here. A very dear family friend of mine is playing the organ in the chapel during the ceremony.  All of the elements coming together just mean so much to me and all have sentimental value, as every wedding day should.  You should have seen how excited Austin and I were about this.  We even did a practice "skip" down the aisle!

The rest of our weekend was filled with catching up on sleep, cold beer, lots of carbs (I'll be a slave to the gym this week) and good friends.  We even got to lay out, yes that is right. I got a suntan in December.  It was marvelous.

Plum Pretty Sugar

I have seen these robes around recently and have really fallen head over heels for them.  I even have one on my Santa List. Aren't they darling?  They are from Plum Pretty Sugar Loungerie and I would be perfectly content with one of each.  To me they exude an innocent romance like no other.

 They come in multiple styles, prints, sizes etc.  Would they not be perfect for day of dressing robes for my bridesmaids and I? A mixture of all different prints together while we get "sassy-fied" is a different way to have a little fun rather than the mundane white robe/Polo oxford choice.

They even have pajama bottoms.

It seems as though I will have to make a couple of these pieces my own, and share this with my lady friends for The Big Day prep.

Finally Friday!

I could not be any happier to wake up to Friday today. Although this week has gone somewhat quickly, I am so ready for a couple days of R&R at the coast. We will be heading to Wilmington tonight to visit with friends, get some wedding planning out of the way and take some Christmas pictures. Good News: All is good on the home front with the pooch.  She did a complete 180 yesterday afternoon and I was so glad.  I think she knew that if she was sick when we headed to the beach, she would not be able to go for a boat ride and swim ;-)  However, since the Great White Shark sighting at WB, I doubt her precious paws will get into the chilly water.


So happy she is healed.


Last night, Austin and I decided to kickoff our weekend a little early.  After work we headed over to Sullivan's Steakhouse, where I indulged in a few "Knockout" martinis and Austin had a few bourbon drinks. Sometimes it is just so nice to kick back and pretend that it is the weekend, even if it isn't :)   We grabbed a couple appetizers which were dee-vine.


I chose the Tavern Sliced Steak and Austin chose the Steak Eggrolls.  I was a little skeptical on his choice, but they were beyond good.   After that we went across the street to Solas.  It is not my normal stomping ground (a little too "upbeat" if you know what I mean) but I figured whattheheckletsgo. We sat on their rooftop deck which was fully heated, so that was a plus. We had one more drink there then headed homeward. I had the Chambourdtini and Austin had their "New Fashion" The New Fashion was an updated rendition of the classic cocktail "The Old Fashion" which is a favorite of Austin's.  The "New Fashion" did not disappoint.

If any of you reading this are a shoe size 6 or 6.5, today is your lucky day. I unfortunately do not have that delicately sized of a foot.

I saw these boots on Pinterest and LOOOVED them. And loved the price even more! $50 bucks! Seriously can't usually get 1/2 a boot for that. Gotta love Amazon. I see these going perfectly with a pair of skinny jeans, leggings or even an awesome dress. All around a great looking boot!

Let's Have a Chat.

Ok. Serious business here. I usually can navigate the seas of the internet pretty well, and if there is something I am looking for, can usually find it. I stand corrected. This bag, I must have. That is all.

I. Must.

One teensy problem. It is no where to be found.  I am hellbent on needing the black crocodile with gold hardware and I declare that it is easier to find a needle in a haystack.  Just when I think I have found it, turns out to be the "mini" version or just the solid black. I need fullsize. black crocodile. gold hardware. now. Saks is sold out. My heart aches.

This beaut is a Rebecca Minkoff MAC "Morning After Clutch", and letmejusttellyouwhat, it is 10x more gorgeous in real life.  I saw a girl carrying it and nearly snatched it off her body.


I am not sure why I cannot find this bag, maybe its Santa playing a dirty trick on me, and he is really planning on surprising me Christmas morning. Who knows.


I mean...look how versatile this is.

 It is the perfect shopper!

Or can be fabulously chic for a night out, like this. Even though this one is leopard print, you get the idea.

It comes down to this, if you can supply me with the beloved link to buy the full size MAC Clutch in black crocodile, I may consider getting you one as well. Hell, I'd do more than that. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Ruff Shape

I have been meaning to do a post solely on my sweet baby girl Bailey, however have just not gotten around to it.  Today seems perfectly fitting as she is literally "sick as a dog." Poor thing breaks my heart.  Bailey is my two and a half year old golden retriever that also goes by the alias "Bailey Muffin" She has a huge piece of my heart and in my eyes, can really do no wrong (sometimes).   For the past two days she has been having "bathroom troubles" if you know what I mean. Let's not get into detail here. Well, this morning she decided to kick things up a notch by adding some good old fashioned vomiting in there too.  I double and triple checked the Christmas Tree (yes, she has been known to eat Christmas ornaments in years past) and nothing seemed to be missing. I have contacted our vet and scheduled an appointment this afternoon, hoping she is stabilized before then.

I hate not being able to help her or have her tell me what is wrong. (Katie, of course she cannot tell you, she is a dog, even though you may treat her like a human). Anyway, will keep you all posted on her improvements, hopefully we can get her back into her tip top baseboard-chewing shape in no time.

On a happier note. I met up with one of my girlfriends last night and we tried out a new spot for cocktails. It was so much fun. We decided to try Fox Liquor Bar for a couple cocktails and an appetizer.

We started with a couple glasses of Banda Azul Rioja, which was a delicious Spanish red wine.  We paired it with a trio of cheeses that we selected off their menu.  We went with the Bijou,  La Tur and Mycella Blue.  I highly recommend it if you're a cheese freak like myself.  The Mycella Blue was a little pungent for my liking ( I usually love any kind of blue cheese) however, I preferred the other two much more.

They are also known for (obviously, by their name) their liquor drinks. A couple beside us ordered one specifically that we knew we just had to try.  It was called the "Marie Antoinette"  It was a concoction of white rum, lemon juice,  Creme de Cacao and a raspberry garnish with TONS of crushed ice (my favorite). It was quite the presentation.

I highly recommend this spot if you're ever in the downtown Raleigh area.  Its pretty hidden as the entire location is underground, but such a fun intimate spot with exposed brick and concrete walls and plush leather couches.


I am off to nurse my sweet pup back to health.
