{weekend recap}

I know, its Tuesday. It has already been a whirlwind of a week and it just began! This past weekend, we went home to visit our families at the coast. Always the best types of weekends for the soul.

This nugget turned 6 years old today. We of course had to celebrate her all weekend!

Each time I'm home, its tradition for my mom and I to visit The Ivy Cottage in Wilmington. If you're in the mood for some awesome vintage hunting, this is your mecca. I adore this vintage print of St Paul's in Charleston. I'm not exactly how sure the piece is as its labeled "St Pauls Episcopal" which is obviously now a cathedral. Nevertheless, I love what it added to our living room gallery wall. Charleston, I'm coming for you to reside...eventually.

Sunday, we got back into town and went to town in the yard. Austin and I have had a great time getting our yard in shape for our first spring in our home. The bed below was entirely empty, it was a lot of fun to fill with boxwoods, azaleas and other little pops of color! The azaleas are a deep red and look ready to bust any day now!

Put  little baby english ivy plant at the base of our light pole, hoping to train it to grow up the entire pole and hide the wood :)

Nothing quite like a gorgeous sunset to end a perfect weekend!

Maxi Moment

It's no secret I love maxi dresses. Love love love maxi dresses. I can never have enough and literally live in them this summer. Here are a few I can't get enough of right now!

1. This dress speaks for itself. How beautiful is it? Perfect for an afternoon wedding or dinner and drinks with friends.
2. Mara Hoffman is one of my favorites. This dress doesn't disappoint.
3. Pleats and peach? Yes please!
4. Really loving orange this year
5. How fun would this dress be to twirl around in? Just sayin

{cheap thrills}

Spring is here, folks. My sweaters are officially in the back of the closet and I don't plan on even thinking about them for another 7 or so months. Here are some spring closet treats that I love -- all under $100 (most even under $50!)

1. These shorts. Amazing. I admittedly have two pairs of the exact same shorts. They are that good. A little stretch and not too short, and under $30 right now!
2. Great little transition dress for those cooler nights we are still having. Love paired with the booties.
3. Love this to throw on after a long day on the beach or a date night
4. Perfect little dressy sandal for wedding season or paired with a jumpsuit
5. Well, this dress, could just go anywhere. You go, cute versatile dress.
6. Love these! Somewhat reminds me of the Karen Walker sunnies but at a much more favorable price!

{cover up round up}

Spring is here! Hallelujah. With that, I have been full steam ahead on a summer closet refresh. I knew the first thing that had to be address was my swim/cover up situation. Out with the old -- in with the new. Here are few cover ups that I loved (a few I liked so much I added them to my closet too!)

5. Lace Cover Up (Use code FRIENDS for 25% off!)

{vacation brain}

Ya'll, its been pushing 80 degrees in Carolina this week. I feel like an entirely different person. Evening jogs and Bob Marley pandora has been going strong this week. Don't judge.

That said, I cannot get my mind off of our upcoming trip for our second wedding anniversary. I still can't believe its nearly been two years! I digress. I haven't ever spent much time in Ft Lauderdale/Miami so I am starting to collect items I know I want to pack with me!

I rounded up my favorite outfit at J. Crew right now, and it may or may not be traveling along with me ;-)

{lately}

Apologies for my hiatus. The past week or so has been 50 shades of crazy. We got two snow storms in one week...

...and then I took a random girls weekend trip with my sister in law out to Nashville. I had never been, and ya'll, we had an absolute blast. I recommend it to anyone if you have the chance. We got in early afternoon Friday and spent the day strolling the "touristy" areas and "honky tonks." We probably had too much fun.

...of course made a stop at the world famous Tootsie's! Each bar starts live music at 10 am every single day. That's aggressive.

We also indulged in some excellent eats! I highly suggest Virago. The food and service was impeccable. We also tried I'm pretty sure every drink on the menu quite a few cocktails. To which, all were excellent!

Saturday was spent relaxing and doing some retail therapy before the wedding. And by retail therapy -- we did our share. Oops.

That little beaut above made it home with me as a momento from the trip if you will.

It's been full steam ahead this week as I get ready for wheels up again to NYC for the rest of the week for work! Feel free to follow along on Instagram, if you want to :-)

xo,
