Weekend

This past weekend we ventured down to Ocracoke, NC. Calling Wilmington home, I never have really spent much time in the Outer Banks, and really had no idea how huge the area actually was. Little did I know, once we passed the sign "Welcome to the Outer Banks" we had a good 2 hours of driving and a ferry ride remaining. But, was the drive worth it! It was absolutely beautiful scenery and the most perfect weather. We met about 20 of our friends down there and had a ton of fun in the sun!
A few of us ladies bright and early on the beach

It was so nice to have a relaxing weekend away with my hubby. While we missed our fur baby TONS, it was so much fun to spend some time with good friends!

This week, I look forward to catching up on some rest, working on organizing our wedding photos and operation gallery wall part 2!

Happy Monday!

Weekend Getaway

                                          #blackandwhite #stripes #umbrella #beach

The hubby and I are off tomorrow for a relaxing beach getaway at Ocracoke Island. It will be my first time on the island, and I've already told Austin we aren't leaving until I see wild horses on the beach! We are planning on taking the long way home on Sunday to experience the Outer Banks, eat some great seafood and take in the atmosphere. If you have any recommendations on lunch spots for us on Sunday, I'd love to hear! Have a great weekend!

What I Loved This Week...

It's been awhile since I blogged last, but things have just been a blur on our end. This week I cannot get enough of these things:
clean & simple shelving in kitchen
This kitchen. When the day comes that we buy, my one rule is a BRIGHT white kitchen and nothing else. I adore white marble and know that someday it'll be ours. I also adore the bronze fixtures and open shelving!
lemon orzo with cucumber and feta
This recipe. It's been so hot lately, that my go to is salads of all types that will carry me through the week. The recipe calls for an "english cucumber" but a regular will do just fine! :) Anything with Feta has my name all over it.

This necklace. I'm sorry, but J. Crew is drunk with some of the prices on their jewelry and for this price on Amazon for this...I can seriously justify my purchase. Plus, I think it'll transition nicely into Fall!

This is my latest DIY Project. When I picked up this baby, man was it UGLY. Picture...dark wood grain and dingy 70's hardware. With a few cans of spray paint and metal baroque style metal paint (highly recommend) this bad boy looks great in our guest room!

We also recently got back our wedding photos. I couldn't love them more. Our photographers truly captured our day just like I wanted. Easy, Coastal and fun. I will be back with a post on them once we get our disc back!

Have a great weekend!

Overhaul

With the wedding behind us (so bittersweet), and having sanity returned to our household...I am hustlin' to finish decorating our space. Doubling our square footage since we moved back from Georgetown, I was slightly overwhelmed with all of the empty space. Slowly but surely things have been coming together...(enough nagging and I finally convinced the hubs on a headboard and mattress set for the guestroom. Three cheers for that! He's actually got quite the eye!) As I continue to finish the guest room, here are a couple of things that we are looking to add to our abode :)

Jennifer Latimer, Coral III
Jackson End Table
Judy Lamp in Green

Who knew decorating and choosing furniture, pieces etc could be so stressful? Gone are the days of college decorating and in are the compromises of gender neutral design and making sure Austin loves it all too. But, I must say he's been pretty easy to please! :)

Happy Tuesday!

Bridesmaids Brunch

Beautiful gift we received from a dear friend of ours! It made many debut's throughout the wedding weekend and now has a special place in our home!
We kicked the wedding weekend festivities off with a brunch thrown for my wonderful bridesmaids. They were the best group of girls to have by my side leading up to the big day and I wanted to show them my gratitude for all they had done!

Love these ladies!

I'm mad at myself I didn't take a better picture of when the table setting was actually done. Things were just too busy! But it was so much fun wrapping each of the girls gifts differently. They received monogrammed oxfords for the wedding day, monogrammed seersucker pajama pants, J Crew earrings and monogrammed coozies. I may have gone somewhat overboard, but I was just so thankful for all they did for me along the way.

We are hoping to receive our professional wedding photos in about 3 weeks. 8 weeks seems like an agonizingly long wait for our wedding pictures, but I think it makes us that much more excited to get them back!

Happy Thursday!

Our Rehearsal Dinner - Photos

My in-laws really worked hard to make our rehearsal dinner so special. Everything was done so beautifully and effortlessly coastal. We had the best evening with the best friends!

My handsome groom :)

How cute were the centerpieces! Salt Harbor Designs did a wonderful job!
My gorgeous bridesmaids!

It was the perfect start to the best weekend of our lives! I will feature my bridesmaid's brunch tomorrow!

Long Weekend

We could not be any more excited for a long weekend. Ever since returning from Antigua, our adjustment back into reality has been a harsh one. I am so looking forward to late mornings of coffee in bed, trying out some new recipes and spending some quality time unplugging from electronics with the hubs and our sweet pup.

Happy Friday!
